We're off!!

Less than an hour away from our departure at JFK for Dusseldorf, where we change planes enroute to Rome. No problems, but let me just say JFK has terrible signage. After much ado, we made our way to the Air Berlin counter, but had to wait nearly two hours for it to open! Not even a coffee kiosk in the check in area where we could sit and relax, so I sat on my suitcase as we waited on line. Finally we got through security ok and found a restaurant where we could relax and drink wine. Whee! Next stop, Germany! Will arrive there at 6:30 am local time.

My luggage was "hot" meaning a fast transfer necessary.
